Class Notes for Miro keeps a copy of the notes on your Miro lesson boards so that students can read, search and download them. This page says what it keeps about you, why, where, for how long, and how to have it deleted.

Who runs it

Class Notes for Miro is run by Gilbert Ramirez, who is responsible for your data. For anything about your data, write to info@hangil.app.

What it keeps

There are no ads, no analytics, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing. The pages load nothing from other sites: fonts and scripts come from Class Notes for Miro itself.

Students' notes

A teacher adds a lesson board and invites their student to it. From then on, the notes on that board are copied, including ones the student wrote, and both of them can read them here. If you are a student and want your notes removed, ask your teacher to remove the board, or write to the address above.

Why

Your account, your token, the notes and your settings are what the service you signed up for needs in order to work (in the terms of the EU and UK GDPR: to perform a contract with you). The usage times and server logs are kept in the legitimate interest of keeping the service working, safe, and able to answer questions like “why didn't my sync run?”. Subscription records are kept so that you get what you paid for.

Where it is kept

Everything is kept on one server, a virtual private server at Kamatera in the USA. Each night an encrypted copy of the database is put in Google Cloud Storage (us-east1, in the USA) in case the server is lost. The copy is encrypted before it leaves the server, with a key that only the owner holds, so Google cannot read it. Miro, where the notes come from, keeps them under its own privacy policy.
